East Midlands Development Agency (emda) is one of nine Regional Development Agencies in England set up in 1999 to bring a regional focus to economic development.

In 1999 we set a vision for the economy of the East Midlands; to be a top 20 region in Europe by 2010. It's an ambitious target, but we can achieve it by making our region a place where people want to live, work and invest. And they'll want to do this if we create a vibrant, successful economy, a healthy, safe and inclusive society and a good quality environ
